What Our Pedicure Please Members Say

"I have cried tears of gratitude from what I have been able to achieve with Fibi through Pedicure Please!!! My 10 year old dog has NEVER had short back nails. I used to have to “trim” one nail at breakfast or sneak a quick snip in while she was distracted! She was so scared of the nail trimmers and of me handling her paws/nails. It was a horrible experience for us both. I felt bad every time I scared her. I ended up training her to file her front nails on a scratch board. It was usually a dinner time ritual, I’d use her meal as reinforcement for her scratching/filing her nails. And that was our life... BUT NOW Fibi is relaxed on a bed and lets me massage her paws and I’ve started to dremel her nails. We’re still at the short tap stage, but her back nails have never been so short in her entire life!!! And I don’t care how long it will take, the trust and bond being built during these pedicure sessions is priceless."

"My 6 month old has loathed having his feet touched since the day he came home, to the point where he would yelp and run if he suspected I was coming near them. Using IYC and Hot Zone to my advantage, I never imagined we would get to this level of tolerance.
I know we have a long way to go in cooperative care but this is a huge win for us, all thanks to PPP"

"You CAN teach an old dog a new trick! My Australian Shepherd, Turk, was 23 inches tall and while otherwise docile, turned into a bucking Bronco when it was time to trim nails. I had to have a friend help hold him with tempting treats to give him during the whole ordeal. We were all tired at the end of the session! Thanks to the power of permission, at the "old" age of 10, I could easily grind Turk's nails by myself within 10 minutes. I was so happy to be able to not cause him (and me!) undue stress during nail trimming sessions."

Rather than focus on “nail cutting”, focus on your dog’s acceptance/love of husbandry.  When you do things cooperatively, it builds trust with your dog. Build confidence in your dog, so they never feel anxious or fearful.
NOTE: If you are currently a Recallers student or joining or gifting Recallers, Your Dog’s Pedicure Please Program is in our Recallers classroom as a special bonus for Recallers members.
