Life with dogs is not always easy, especially when they misbehave, blow you off, ignore you, embarrass you in public and generally create frustration. Some days, you might even wonder if you should have a dog or if your dog would be better off with someone else. You are not alone, and I’m going to tell you a story on how finding a different pathway can open the door to amazing grace for your dog and, most importantly, for you.
In the episode you'll hear:
- That we get the dogs we get for a reason.
- The story of Bob and his dog Buddy and their life together.
- How not giving up can lead you to find new pathways.
- Why dog training can be like an iceberg and what matters is underneath.
- Why grace can change the way you look at the world and yourself.
- How creating a deep connection with a dog can change our life.

Well said. Thankyou
Susan, I am over whelmed with what to do. I believe my puppy is getting worse not better and I know its my fault. At 74 I am no stranger to what this pod cast teaches and have had wonderful family member companion dogs. I signed up for your training classes and my Australian Labradoodle does our classes very well. But then when I not looking she “reverts” back to all reasons she is in class to begin with. I’m now afraid I’M being shaped to just cry. Are there lessons ( there are so many)
that show confussed smart dogs learning to not want to do all the bad thing when your not there or back is turned. My dog has learned not to jump on your front. she only comes from behind now and ambushes people and me. There is only a fixed amount of hours in a day.
Thanks. I truely want to succeed.
I loved this video it really opened your eyes to the world around us!!
Always great to listen to you Susan, I have gone through Recallers, H 360 & was a member of Agility Nation.
So I know your work ethic but it’s so nice to jump back here for the reminder.
Love you Susan !! Shelley Wood was my mentor ! And you both have the best hearts!!!!
Such a heartfelt podcast, how could anyone see it and not be moved! We all need to give ourself, our dogs and others more grace. My dog Ti and I have come so far with Recallers and this just sums up the Recallers way of life. Everyone should listen to this podcast even if they don’t have a dog. What a great life lesson. Thank you Susan!!!
Beautiful segment. Thank you. ❤️. I find it hard to give myself the grace to fail in my opinion without remorse, regret & self-blame. Irish Catholic! 😂. This podcast brought tears of understanding. You’re the best kind of people!💕
